Other people's footage, not advice: how someone else dives here says nothing about what suits your team. Dive within your training.

The dive

You dive in cobalt-blue, crystal-clear water of 17–23 °C, at 1,250 m altitude. Guinas is the only natural home of Tilapia guinasana. A connection to Otjikoto is claimed but unproven.

Very deep with steeply dropping walls, at 1,250 m altitude: plan depth, gas and deco with altitude correction. Swimmers have drowned; bodies were not always recovered.

How to get there

~38 km west of Tsumeb, by the D3043, on private farmland; visits only with the owner's permission (the water rights are shared by several partners). According to an older source, apply for dives at least 3 months ahead. A rusty staircase down to the water.

Certification requirements, configurations and trimix depths are estimates for planning. Always check them locally and dive within your training.
