The dive
More than twenty sinks, springs and resurgences on one property, some of them connected.
Profile and sections
More than twenty sinks, springs and resurgences on one property, some of them connected. The best known, Three Way Spring, is a still blue hole of 11 by 8.5 m with one inflow and one outflow; the Eel passage beyond it can't be fully passed.
The leaseholder brought the caves to attention in 1994, they were first dived in 1996, and CDAA divers explored them until 2000. Many passages end at a restriction.
Practical: closed to divers since the 2005 report; we found no operator or expedition diving there now.
- Depth and profile
- Plan for 54 m: that is the depth of the shaft 2ES0023 ('54m Hole'), with a restriction at the bottom. Three Way Spring is 12 m deep.
- Configuration
- Many restrictions and passages that can't be fully passed: sidemount (estimate); backmount and CCR only in the larger springs.
Who can dive where
- At least Full cave
- Configurations: Backmount / twinset / Sidemount / CCR
- Goes down to 54 m (trimix or deco may be needed)
- Experienced divers only
This is how the planner decides who in your team may dive this cave. Rules your own trip adds (organizer, a mail, the AI) show with your trip.
How to get there
On the land of Mt Hope Station on Santo, only with the leaseholder's permission. One of the shafts (2ES0034) needs an abseil to running water.
