Other people's footage, not advice: how someone else dives here says nothing about what suits your team. Dive within your training.

The dive

The finest cave near the capital. The main line runs through a large decorated room with brilliant white walls to a restriction, and behind it through breakdown into a large back room that chokes at -43 m at a final restriction.

The owner has filled a former second exit with rocks: there is only one way out.

This is how the planner decides who in your team may dive this cave. Rules your own trip adds (organizer, a mail, the AI) show with your trip.

How to get there

Private land a few minutes from Las Américas airport; a metal spiral staircase in the sinkhole to the water. Fee to the owner plus porters (about 700 DOP in 2013); through the cave centres about 350 USD.

Certification requirements, configurations and trimix depths are estimates for planning. Always check them locally and dive within your training. Compiled from web research (DRSS dr-ss.com, Dive Dominicana, Dominican Divers, Scuba Diving, Advanced Diver, World Nomads, divemasteraustin.com, showcaves.com, godominicanrepublic.com, Dominican press, DAN; Oct 2026), the book Las cuevas sumergidas de República Dominicana (environment ministry / Fundación Espeleobuceo Hispaniola, 2003; facts only); Dive Dominicana's gases and prices confirmed by Dive Dominicana, and Golden Arrow's details by Golden Arrow (Oct 2026). Oleg's Bat House and Sistema La Negra were added in Nov 2026 (DRSS, Dive Dominicana, Dominican Divers, and for Oleg's Bat House Caving News and DR1 after Listín Diario, 2011). The DRSS descriptions date from around 2013. Pins only where a source gives them; the caves on private land around Santo Domingo deliberately without a pin.
