The dive

A clear spring pool with wooden entry platforms on its north-west side.

Past the cavern a restriction (tank off) leads into the cave: only with full cave training.
Profile and sections

A clear spring pool with wooden entry platforms on its north-west side. In the cavern you fight the flow, among eels, rock bass and fossils in the walls, and visibility there is usually endless, while in the creek it can be only about 1.5 m. The shallow, swift spring run flows about 430 m to Holmes Creek.

The spring used to be a private dive and swim concession.

Practical: carry enough life jackets in the boat and come early; on fine days there are many boats and swimmers.

Depth and profile
Spring pool with the vent at about -8 m · cavern with strong outflow · past a restriction to about -20 m at the end of the line; according to Florida Springs the cave goes to at least -19.8 m
Configuration
Cavern in all configurations except small; the restriction only goes with a tank off or in sidemount (estimate).
DPV: Not DPV-suitable (estimate)
Short cavern with a restriction; a scooter makes no sense.

This is how the planner decides who in your team may dive this cave. Rules your own trip adds (organizer, a mail, the AI) show with your trip.

How to get there

By water only: from the ramp on Big Pine Lane (from Vernon take SR 277, then Culpepper Lane) about 800 m upstream by boat or canoe; canoes can be rented near Vernon. The banks around the spring are private. Summer weekends are busy and FWC checks that the boat carries enough life jackets.

Edd Sorenson's cave centre on Merritt's Mill Pond: CCR service and training up to CCR cave, guided dives, pontoon rental to Twin Caves and Hole in the Wall, scooter rental for Jackson Blue, lodging via Karst Kottages. Fills while you wait. The fill prices on the older website (air $5 single / $10 doubles, nitrox $0.11/cu ft) are probably outdated.
