Closed to divers

Closed: the Boy Scouts, who own the land, ended the guide programme around 2016 over liability concerns and nobody has dived there since; in 2026 a rezoning request for part of the camp is pending.

The dive

Two sinks on the scout camp near Brooksville, left by the Diepolder family.

Profile and sections

Two sinks on the scout camp near Brooksville, left by the Diepolder family. They were explored for thirty years under Florida's strictest guide system (Florida Speleological Researchers: full cave plus 100 cave dives, trimix, one guide per two or three guests, and Sink III first before Sink II was allowed).

Practical: they are on the site because the name comes up everywhere, but there is no access now, and the land's future is uncertain.

Depth and profile
Diepolder III about -91 m (300 ft), Diepolder II about -111 m (365 ft): the deepest cave in the aquifer and in the continental US
Configuration
When it was still open: backmount or sidemount, rebreathers only in Sink III.
Gas
Trimix from 45 m (148 ft)
