Other people's footage, not advice: how someone else dives here says nothing about what suits your team. Dive within your training.

The dive

A few metres behind the entrance, roots hang from the ceiling like huge beards, from trees that stand just above a large chamber; this is also where the cave's only air pocket lies.

Very tight: the entrance is 70–80 cm high and halfway there is a passage 90 cm high. On the way out, clay coming off the ceiling brings the visibility close to zero in many places: a well-laid, continuous line is your only way out.
After heavy rain the outflow is strong: in October 2018 it kept Addicted2H2O from getting through the narrow entrance, and in May 2020 getting in was a challenge.
Profile and sections

A few metres behind the entrance, roots hang from the ceiling like huge beards, from trees that stand just above a large chamber; this is also where the cave's only air pocket lies. On the way in the visibility is excellent, in water of ~10 °C all year round. Deep in the cave lie two drill pipes for the village's drinking water: the large one, 70 cm across, supplies half of Polydrosos, and when the pump is running you hear a loud, characteristic sound (Grafas).

The spring is the source of the Boeotian Kifisos. Just above it lie the remains of a sanctuary of Apollo, where excavations in 1908 found the marble statuette 'The Child with the Goose', from the 3rd century BC and now in the National Archaeological Museum (no. 2772). Polydrosos was called Souvala until 1928; according to Pausanias the ancient city of Lilaia stood here. Greek cave divers explored the spring years ago; Grafas Diving filmed the cave from October to December 2017, together with Addicted2H2O, which came back until 2020.

Practical: volunteers of the Polydrosos women's association keep the area around the spring clean and built a wooden bridge and benches there.

Depth and profile
After the entrance you drop to -2.5/-3 m to a restriction 70 cm high, and further on comes a passage 1.70 m wide and 90 cm high. The first shaft goes to -25 m; a second shaft (-25 m at its shallowest, 2.90 m across) drops to -34 m, and the drill pipes lie at -36/-37 m. Then the cave climbs to a plateau at -20 m, where the line ends, ~180 m from the entrance. Beyond it runs a round passage 50 cm across and ~15 m long that has not been explored (Grafas). Max -37 m (Addicted2H2O).
Configuration
Entrance 70–80 cm high and a passage 90 cm high: sidemount is the obvious choice (estimate).
DPV: Not DPV-suitable (estimate)
Short (~180 m) and tight: no scooter.

How to get there

The Kifisos spring (Agia Eleousa) lies ~1.5 km north-west of the village of Polydrosos, at the northern foot of Mount Parnassos (municipality of Delphi), by the ruins of the Byzantine church of Agia Eleousa. The entrance, facing south-east, is 1 m wide and 80 cm high (Grafas; Addicted2H2O: 70 cm). No dive centre offers cave dives here; no permit rule is known.
