The dive

The cave feeds the Shannon Pot. In 2008 British divers passed a 40 m sump ("Young, Free and Desperate") and bypassed sump 4; sump 5 ("Long Way From Home") is the new end.

George's Choke and other boulder chokes are unstable and moved further after July 2025; a rescue beyond George's Choke may not be possible.

The Polltullyard entrance is in Fermanagh; most of the cave runs under Cavan. With an experienced guide only; the landowner asks cavers to avoid the cave in April (lambing).
