Other people's footage, not advice: how someone else dives here says nothing about what suits your team. Dive within your training.
The dive
Past many pillars you reach a dome-shaped space in Ryukyu limestone, dissolved by rainwater over a very long time, like a limestone cave.
Profile and sections
Past many pillars you reach a dome-shaped space in Ryukyu limestone, dissolved by rainwater over a very long time, like a limestone cave. Of Miyako's sites where you surface in a pond, the dive centre says this pond has by far the clearest water. Most holes here get the most light around noon, but this one opens to the east: the light is best around 10:00, in early autumn the sun pours in through the opening in the ceiling on the morning dive, and by early afternoon only a small part of the curtain of light is left.
The dive centre also calls it Mini Grotto.
Practical: the dive centre counts Mini Toriike among its easy sites (20%) and can dive it ~80% of the time.
- Depth and profile
- To 13 m: a long cave to a pond where you surface, as at Toriike.
- Configuration
- Long cave to an enclosed pond: cavern level, with the guide (estimate).
Who can dive where
- At least Cavern
- Configurations: Backmount / twinset / Sidemount / CCR / Small cylinders / no-mount (speleo sumps)
- Goes down to 13 m (trimix or deco may be needed)
This is how the planner decides who in your team may dive this cave. Rules your own trip adds (organizer, a mail, the AI) show with your trip.
