Other people's footage, not advice: how someone else dives here says nothing about what suits your team. Dive within your training.

The dive

A sea cave on three levels below Punta Giglio. Through a small sump or a side tunnel you reach an inner chamber with air and a small lake, where you can surface.

Fossil deposit of the extinct dwarf deer in the niche above the lake: touch nothing and keep off the walls and the calcite.
AMP rules (2025, unchanged in 2026): on your own only with the AMP's authorisation, in daylight, with at least a 2nd-level card plus a Cavern Diver card, max 4 divers and within 50 m of the buoy or your dive buoy. Otherwise only guided by an authorised centre: guide at least Cavern Diver, max 4 divers per guide. Max 6 divers per dive and 3 dives a day in the cave; no night dives.
Profile and sections

A sea cave on three levels below Punta Giglio. Through a small sump or a side tunnel you reach an inner chamber with air and a small lake, where you can surface. There is little life inside, sometimes bats; large groupers are often at the exit.

In a niche above the lake, bones and antlered skulls of the extinct Sardinian dwarf deer (Megaloceros cazioti) are embedded in the limestone, found by Marco Busdraghi in 1995.

Practical: the cave lies in Zone B of the Capo Caccia–Isola Piana AMP; on your own you pay the AMP €10 a day in 2026. The certification level on this page is an estimate.

Depth and profile
Large arch at the outer entrance at ~-15 to -20 m (it.wikipedia); tunnel through the headland from an entrance at -18 m (north side) to an opening at -8 m (south side) (Alghero Divers); PADI gives an average of -12 m, max -18 m.
Configuration
Dimensions unknown; entrance through a small sump.
DPV: Not DPV-suitable (estimate)
Short sea cave with a sump inside a protected area: no scooter.

Certification requirements, configurations and trimix depths are estimates for planning. Always check them locally and dive within your training. Compiled from web research (Sardinian regional cave cadastre, dive centres, DeepDivingAcademy, Scintilena, Wikipedia, Capo Caccia AMP rules, news reports; Sept 2026); Capo Galera, Alghero Divers, PADI and it.wikipedia for the caves at Punta Giglio and Capo Caccia (Oct 2026); Protec Sardinia (message, Oct 2026; the Grotta Sifone and the Grotta Masseduoe confirmed by Protec Sardinia, without a public location); the AMP rules (disciplinare) of 2025 and 2026 and Portoconte.it for the Capo Caccia caves (Nov 2026). Pins from the cadastre unless stated; the Grotta dei Fantasmi from OpenStreetMap, the Grotta del Bel Torrente from Grottocenter, the Grotta dei Cervi and the Grotta della Madonnina from it.wikipedia; ~ = estimate.
