Below the famous show cave the Pivka flows through a system of ~24.3 km. In the Zvezni sump between Pivka jama and Magdalena jama, 422 m long and 17 m deep, visibility is ~3 m; divers of JKŽ Ljubljana and JD Rakek passed it in 2017. In 2015 divers found ~3.5 km of new passage beyond a sump towards Planinska jama, with visibility mostly no more than 0.5 m and expeditions of up to 12 hours.
Practical: the sumps have only been dived by expeditions of caving clubs, supported by Postojnska jama d.d.; we know of no way for visitors to dive them. The connection continues to Planinska jama, where the Pivka surfaces again.
