The dive

Afkule looks like an upturned cone with one side cut away: you keep the wall on your left and drop into the cave.

The cave continues to 40–60 m. The dive guide advises leaving the cave at around 15 m to save air and not going deeper than 5 m when swimming out of Türk Hamamı; the side passages at 25–30 m and the small cave at 28 m need their own planning.
Whether you can enter from above depends on the swell. Keep clear of the walls: the corals and sponges are already damaged.
Profile and sections

Afkule looks like an upturned cone with one side cut away: you keep the wall on your left and drop into the cave. On the walls you find red cave shrimp, and about 7 m inside a brown moray lives in a crack; outside large dusky groupers cruise. Then you follow the wall to Türk Hamamı, a round 'Turkish bath' open at the top where you surface inside after your safety stop.

The pink soft corals that once covered the cave have nearly gone because of careless divers, per the dive guide.

Practical: the pin comes from the Göcek and Fethiye dive guide. Dive centres in Fethiye run boats there.

Depth and profile
Afkule is 15 m wide and 40–60 m deep (40–50 m per Hepsiburada; PADI names a cavern to 29 m). At 25–30 m there are side openings, a narrow one on the left and a wider one on the right. After 80–100 m along the wall the entrance of Türk Hamamı at 10–12 m (~4 m wide); east of it a small 6–8 m cave at 28 m.
Configuration
Large cavern with daylight: recreational gear with lights does for the upper part; below 40 m and in the side passages a technical dive (estimate).
Gas
Trimix from 40 m

This is how the planner decides who in your team may dive this cave. Rules your own trip adds (organizer, a mail, the AI) show with your trip.

How to get there

Boat dive, three miles (~6 km) from Fethiye harbour. Depending on the swell you drop into the open cave from the surface or start outside along the wall. Per the dive guide for experienced divers only; Hepsiburada speaks of professional divers.

Certification requirements, configurations and trimix depths are estimates for planning. Always check them locally and dive within your training. Compiled from web research (Oct 2026): the dive centres' websites (Akdeniz Yunus Diving, Antalya Scuba Diving, Blue Team Diving), the Göcek and Fethiye dive guide (with GPS for Afkule), explorelycia.com, limancepte.com and medgulets.com on the Blue Cave near Kaputaş, denizde.com.tr, PADI's pages on Alanya and Fethiye and a report on taucher.net (2004) on Rambo, hepsiburada.com (Jan 2022), the reports of the Karstdive 95 expedition (gue.com and InDEPTH), İHA (Dec 2022) on Kırkgöz, Finike municipality and the Antalya cultural inventory (Oct 2025) on the Suluin, Hürriyet Daily News (2017) on Kekova and the TSSF chamber list (as of June 2021). Only Afkule has a published pin. Certification and configurations are estimates. The open part is sea caves with a dive centre; the freshwater caves near Antalya and Finike are permit-only or closed.
