The dive

Kampepén is a closed cenote under a hacienda. It is lit, so you see the floor from the surface; the water is warm even in winter, and there are two caves inside.

Certification requirements, configurations and trimix depths are estimates for planning. Always check them locally and dive within your training. Compiled from web research (Cenoteando/UNAM, showcaves.com, Yucatán Today, yucatan.travel, Mexico Desconocido, Posta, Diario de Yucatán, Advanced Diver Magazine, dive centres in Mérida; Oct 2026). Pins from the Cenoteando repository, Sabak Ha from Google Maps; depths as the dive centre or the press give them, and they differ per source. Rules, fees and openings change — check locally.
