Other people's footage, not advice: how someone else dives here says nothing about what suits your team. Dive within your training.

The dive

Visibility per Circle Divers is 30–40 m. It is quieter here than at the famous sites, because it only works at high tide.

Strong current and waves at the entry, especially in strong wind: only at high tide and in calm water. The canyon lies at 45–60+ m with narrow swim-throughs and chambers: for technical divers on trimix only; the small canyon at ~30 m is dangerous too for its depth and narrow passages. Keep good trim, there is suspended matter.
Profile and sections

Depth and profile
A shallow lagoon at 7–12 m with reefs on either side. Deeper, a canyon parallel to the shore at 45 to more than 60 m, with swim-throughs, chambers and vertical drops; duikersgids.nl names a small canyon at ~30 m with narrow entrances and exits.
Configuration
The deep canyon is a technical dive, usually on trimix, with training, a gas plan and redundant gear (Circle Divers). Narrow passages (estimate).

This is how the planner decides who in your team may dive this cave. Rules your own trip adds (organizer, a mail, the AI) show with your trip.

How to get there

Shore dive just south of The Canyon; only at high tide and in calm water. Technical divers swim ~12 minutes across the reef to the canyon's opening at ~45 m.

Certification requirements, configurations and trimix depths are estimates for planning. Always check them locally and dive within your training. Compiled from web research (Oct 2026): the websites of Circle Divers, H2O Divers Dahab and Scuba Seekers, PADI (Blue Hole/Bells, with pin), Wikipedia (Blue Hole, coordinates), Wikivoyage, duikersgids.nl (Abu Helal), SSI, Wego (July 2026) and Aquarius Red Sea (April 2026) on access and rules, and DAN Europe's Alert Diver (2013, 2016) on the chambers. These are shore dives on the reef: chimneys, canyons, overhangs and the Blue Hole's deep arch, with open water outside. The Arch and Abu Helal's deep canyon are technical deep dives. Certification and configurations are estimates.
