Other people's footage, not advice: how someone else dives here says nothing about what suits your team. Dive within your training.

The dive

In summer large schools of silversides hang in the caverns, with tarpon swimming through them.

You dive in George Town harbour, where boats pass and yachts lie on moorings: surface at the reef or the ladder, not in open water, and carry a buoy (SMB) or dive flag. In a nor'wester the west side is rough; ask the dive centre whether you can get in.
Profile and sections
Depth and profile
A large reef with large caverns and tunnels, from a sand bottom at ~12 m (40 ft) to a few metres below the surface; openings and chimneys let daylight in.
Configuration
Shallow, with daylight through the openings: recreational gear with a torch (estimate).
Who can dive where
  • CaveAt least Open water / no overhead

This is how the planner decides who in your team may dive this cave. Rules your own trip adds (organizer, a mail, the AI) show with your trip.

How to get there

Shore dive from Eden Rock Diving Center's ladder: follow the sand channel out and keep right. The dive centre advises one dive per site.

Certification requirements, configurations and trimix depths are estimates for planning. Always check them locally and dive within your training. Compiled from web research (Oct 2026): Eden Rock Diving Center's own description on PADI and the PADI site pages it contributed (with pins), the websites of Red Sail Sports (dive sites and dive policy) and Ocean Frontiers (site pages with pins, shore diving, rental), Explore Cayman, the Department of Environment (marine parks, public moorings) and the Health Services Authority (chamber). These are reef caverns, tunnels and swim-throughs with daylight in reach, from the shore in George Town and by boat on the West Wall and in East End; the requirements come from the dive centres. Certification and configurations are estimates.
