The dive

A sea cave on the north side of Marettimo, known from the boat tours (the 'thunder cave'). Fossil remains of a deer were found in it. Practical: Blu Tek dives it.

Egadi rules: the cave only guided, 1 April–15 January, max 4 divers per guide and 8 per dive, never at night.

Large, partly air-filled grotto between -10 and -24 m, with slopes, terraces and small passages, one with an air bubble.

    PADI centre in Marettimo harbour with a 15–18 m boat and a compressor aboard. Dives the island's caves (Cattedrale, Perciata, due Camere, Tuono) under the Egadi rules. According to divingaway it also teaches PADI cave courses; its own PADI page lists only Scuba Diver — ask.
