The dive

From outside the entrance looks small, but inside a cathedral-sized hall opens up, filled with blue light coming in through the underwater entrance.

In choppy seas there are rocks at the entrance. Don't swim there from Kaputaş beach: the open sea has currents and waves.
Profile and sections

From outside the entrance looks small, but inside a cathedral-sized hall opens up, filled with blue light coming in through the underwater entrance. Snorkellers stay at the surface, divers continue inside. The rock is covered in soft corals, and shrimp sometimes gather in the inner gallery.

The cave used to be a nursery of the Mediterranean monk seal; with the heavy boat traffic they now rarely come. Don't confuse it with the Blue Cave of Ölüdeniz or the one at Kekova.

Practical: there is no pin; you only get there by boat.

Depth and profile
5–18 m. Inside ~50 m long and 40 m wide, up to 15 m high; at the back an inner gallery through narrow passages.
Configuration
Large cavern with daylight: recreational gear with a torch; the inner gallery with a guide (estimate).

This is how the planner decides who in your team may dive this cave. Rules your own trip adds (organizer, a mail, the AI) show with your trip.

How to get there

By sea only, between Kaş and Kalkan (18 km from Kaş, 6 km from Kalkan), a few hundred metres short of Kaputaş beach. Large gulets don't fit through the low entrance; the boat stays outside. No entrance fee; dive centres in Kaş run boats there.

Certification requirements, configurations and trimix depths are estimates for planning. Always check them locally and dive within your training. Compiled from web research (Oct 2026): the dive centres' websites (Akdeniz Yunus Diving, Antalya Scuba Diving, Blue Team Diving), the Göcek and Fethiye dive guide (with GPS for Afkule), explorelycia.com, limancepte.com and medgulets.com on the Blue Cave near Kaputaş, denizde.com.tr, PADI's pages on Alanya and Fethiye and a report on taucher.net (2004) on Rambo, hepsiburada.com (Jan 2022), the reports of the Karstdive 95 expedition (gue.com and InDEPTH), İHA (Dec 2022) on Kırkgöz, Finike municipality and the Antalya cultural inventory (Oct 2025) on the Suluin, Hürriyet Daily News (2017) on Kekova and the TSSF chamber list (as of June 2021). Only Afkule has a published pin. Certification and configurations are estimates. The open part is sea caves with a dive centre; the freshwater caves near Antalya and Finike are permit-only or closed.
