The dive
Down to ~-30 m you still see daylight behind you, and visibility is ~25 m. The water is 8 °C; near the entrance it can be warmer where the lake water mixes in.
Profile and sections
Down to ~-30 m you still see daylight behind you, and visibility is ~25 m. The water is 8 °C; near the entrance it can be warmer where the lake water mixes in. Then the cave drops to a large chamber that goes straight down, to at least -90 m.
The entrance used to be dry. The dams on the Neretva raised the water so far that you now enter the cave underwater. The GUE Balkans Cave Exploration Project dived here in July 2010.
Practical: plan through the club in Mostar, which also runs the logistics of the Balkan Cave Summit.

How to get there
In the Salakovac reservoir on the Neretva, north of Mostar. The dam flooded what used to be a dry entrance: it now lies at 8–10 m, depending on the lake level. The exact spot is not in our sources; plan with Ronilački klub Neretva in Mostar.
